compare Beyer DT990 '05 w/ Denon D2000

The Beyers have a better midrange than Denons (slightly better quality). But the mids are slightly recessed. They have better highs tonal quality (Beyers).
The Denons have an slightly more powerfull subbass and lower midbass than Beyers, with comparable midbass quantity. But the Beyers hits hard in the bass a smidgin more (but the Denons use almost the triple of his volume...)
The bass is comparable in both in quality, with an slight edge to the Beyers.
The Denons have a slightly better image that the Beyers (specially in the z axis of the soundstage).
The Beyers sound more airier and spacious than Denons and with a bigger soundstage/headstage.
The Denons sound louder than Beyers and are less hard to drive than Beyers
The Denons sound ticker/warmer than Beyers [or with less air (because of the properties of his pads) or "more congested" in comparisson] with an slightly more realistic tone than Beyers [specially with pianos (lower midrange)], except treble....
The Denons have a little bit more aggresive midrange than Beyers (without doubt (altough my Arietta drives better the Denons than the Beyers))

These impressions are with a Denon AH-D2000 with a D5000 cable....

The Denons with DT990 velours + some thin cloths; blow away both of them... [DT990 stock and Denons (D2000, D5000)]. This fusion get the best of both and enhance some of his qualities as: details, instrument separation, image, soundstage/headstage, airiness, speed (they are as fast as my Sonys, only slightly less detailed), etc.
