Hello, I have been surfing around and I do not find a headphone that combines the RF & Wired option.

Reason: walking around in the house -> RF.
Going out of range of RF transmitter -> wired.

Anyone?

thanks, KE

You might want to use a pro transmission line...

I use this http://www.akg.com/IVM4500+IEM-841.html?pid=1393 for ALL my headphones (eg... it drives a Audeze LCD-2 perfectly) plus others since years... Sound quality aswell as range are excellent, bodypack runs with a set of two AA (batteries or NiMH) rougly 8 hours, absolutely sturdy construction...basically a one-time purchase.

Similar systems (on a pro sound level - don't buy cheap copies, they have bad S/N ratio!) are also available from Shure and Sennheiser (have the ew 300 IEM G3 also)  - but IMHO the AKG gives me the best overall value...

Okay, it seems there are no RF headphones with AUX.
So, I (okay, a collegue) just modified an RF headphone in 5 minutes and now it has AUX. Only 2 wires, an AUX connector and some basic soldering skills were needed.

The cool thing is that the headphone can act as a wireless bridge to an amplifier far away from the original transmitter.
Or even cooler: you can listen with 2 when you connect a wired headphone to the AUX of the wireless (with aux) headphone.

Why does this not exist?

A pitty I can not include the pictures, so here the link: https://plus.google.com/photos/105666062678051380513/albums/6073779929338676049?authkey=CJepmp37mLqbwQE
