TrollDragon, you will NOT believe it BUT there are directional cables in high-end. i can post a picture of that if you wish where you find clear arrow markings on cable and instruction says what direction arrows must face when you connect cable.

more so you will NOT believe me but sound differs and quite noticeably if you put directional cable not the right way.

so we can laugh at this but IF i would not have this cable and would not hear the difference i would not believe it too

I have a cable here that has directional arrows on it.

Here's an example.

No need to be smug...
If you hear a difference then that is great!

I'll not say any more on this as I don't want to turn this thread in the foolishness that exists in the Cable / Fuse / Snake Oil Threads.

The shield is only connect on one end to reduce possibilities of ground hum, the end with the Arrow has the shield soldered to the shell.

Also note that the analog stereo cables have directional arrows on them because the shield is only connected at one end (see photo). The digital and video cables are not directional.

Dragon, i agree with you, for this reason you consult some good electric engineer specialists working with high quality materials.... i also could not believe before a professional engineer tried to explain me some principles of high end and materials used to achieve distort free clean current. frankly speaking i think i understood only 30 or 50% of what he told but then i stopped laughing.

also my chord cable has directional arrows and when i put wrong direction connection the cable sounded muffed.... i swapped the ends and sound changed pretty much so even my daughter who is not audiophile was stunned... so this how i began to believe in cable voodoo :)

Nick, exactly and this is why my c3 stays on despite i have rwak now. I just love this little tank so much and there is something very musical about its sound no matter Rwak doing better layering and instrument separation. I love them both and love switching between them for fun.

It's such a shame that the UI is bull crap otherwise I'd be sold forever. Gintaras you're a massive rep for this device and one of the reasons I bought it. Put up with the UI and the crappy transfer of tunes and you have the best sounding source for sub £100. I did the iPod for one tune, 3 times and then the C3 for the same. Repeat for 4 different genres and as much as I'd like to opt for the usability of the iPod. It's not happening. C3 we are best buds.

Nick, come on, i never would want to be a reason for anyone to buy this. Rather we all do our homework before buying. Glad you like your c3 but then I can see some people may not be happy with it. This reminds me of yesterday experience when i visited one chap and listened to his all Naim system with higher line amp driving PMC Fact8 floorstanders. I was really surprised when he told me price for PMC was 7k euros because my Sonus Faber would burn them down into ashes... Mind this I found some people who prefer PMC because of their more laid back smooth consumerish tone... So like i say eveyone has his own ears to decide.

Yes, you right, UI on c3 is rubbish, when you pain yourself into using it just keep on telling yourself that you bought it primarily for sound :)

Gladly unlike other Apple users i never liked iPod, and after freaking iPad music player (same iPod in disguise) deleted some music files during sync even without warning me and i discovered this only when put on player in the hotel room that became the last nail in the coffin of iPod for me. So i have and use nearly all Apple products except for music playing and never could care less about iPod UI.

Yeah, the UI is rubbish. Yeah, the screen is tiny. Yeah, it sometimes locks up. Yeah, it can't handle very many formats. Yeah, organizing the music on it is a pain.

But man, it has to be the finest sounding player I've found for ~$100...
