I have been doing a lot of reading lately and wanted to set up my DAC to play higher resolution files. Right now I don't have a digital out I can use from my computer so I am limited to 48kHz files (which isn't too big of a limitation as I barely have any hi-res files), but I may need the capability in the future.
I was thinking of buying an ESI Juli@ and adding a BNC jack to the metal bracket and using that to output bit perfect signals, as I understand there is minimal jitter. However, I've also done some reading on USB-Coax converters, but for the price of one I can get a more flexible soundcard and I won't have an ungainly 3" long plug on the back of my computer. Is there any reason why I'd want to use one?
Thanks, Brendan
