What would be a good replacement for the burr brown parts in the cmoy that are readily available here in Britain? Someone here must know what works in the darn thing. I am planning a visit to maplins later on today so if you know please tell me, your information is valuable to me. Thanks in advance.

You wont get anything suitable to replace the BB opamp in your Cmoy from Maplins.
You need to go to RS(UK) or Farnell

I only want to build one CMoy so only one opamp is needed and they will only sell me them in multiples of 10, and I have had a bad experience with RS, never been successful with them. Wont sell to the public as so on. I dont want to order it over the web, but that looks like what I will have to do. most probably from digikey or farnell. why is Maplins so crap?
