[Satan on a stick]

Currently building another op amp version of the CMOY (2227) and I'm running into a problem. Both the left and right input wires running from the pot give off what sounds like electrical interference when I either touch either wire (or both) or even hold my hand close. Now this won't effect the sound when the amp is cased (I hope) but what is causing this effect? I'm using SPC in a teflon jacket, is the insulation not effective enough?
