Hello all,

Trying to find a dual potentiometer for the cMOY amp. This one seems okay: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bourns/PTR902-2020F-A503/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtC25l1F4XBU4LIzrlRxKBZKzp6WgynPGI%3d but it's a little expensive. Any suggestions? What kind of power rating should I look for? I'm assuming 25 mW is high enough.

Also I have a opa2227 right now, but I was thinking of trying out other op amps. One thing I am confused about is the difference between arz and brz and arz and armz. For example:
AD8620ARZ-ND vs AD8620BRZ-ND
and
AD8066ARZ-ND vs AD8066ARMZ-ND
There is a huge price difference as well, the brz ($30) costs twice the arz.

Thank you!

$3 is what you should expect to pay. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that's a pretty low price for a audio pot. The nicer Alps pots cost closer to $10.

I'm not sure what the suffixes mean, but I wouldn't worry too much about rolling op-amps at this point. Put it together with the 2227 and make sure you have a functional device.

I actually don't know what a dual potentiometer is. But the most common pot used on a quality cmoy like the one at Tangent or the cmoyBB from JDS Labs is the Alps RK0971221Z05:

It's called a dual-unit by Alps so I would think it's the dual pot you look for :).

Sorry, I didn't know the technical term for it, but by dual I meant that it regulates 2 channels at once (hence the 2 resistor elements I assume). I think It's cheaper to order from Mouser than any of those 3. Thanks though!

I think it's the proper name for it, I just don't know that much about the different potentiometers available . I only know this is a good potentiometer for the money. You indeed can buy the part from Mouser too :)

Regarding the different op amps. An expensive op amp is not straight away the best in general or for your usage the best op amp available. You can check this topic: http://www.head-fi.org/t/432749/the-opamp-thread
