I am attempting to build the Tangent Soft CMoy, but have run into a road block. With no source plugged in, it get a faint hiss. It is the same volume hiss regardless of; no source, with source, or at any source volume (i do not have a volume knob on my amp).
I measured the Iq of the amp and it is far to high: ~10mA vs the ~4.8 max on the spec sheet, although i have one LED which would raise the Iq to ~5.8mA max it is still way too high.
Tanent Soft said that an incorrect Iq means one of two things, oscillation or a short. With oscillation something should be getting hot, but nothing is getting hot, so i am left with assuming it is a short, but i cannot find a short anywhere. Is there any other possible causes for my problem? am i missing an obvious spot for a short? any help is appreciated.
