When it comes to portability, I really love my Image X10's and I'm very content with where I'm at with my portable rig. I recently got an Apogee Duet for my macbook though and after trying out my Senn HD-25's with it, I was pretty underwhelmed and am now looking for an upgrade in the laptop rig. Here's what I'm looking for:
-Matches well with the Duet.
-Very important that the mids are clear.
-Even more bass (resonance, extension, definition, all of it) than the X10's.
-Budget limit: $250.
-Fast enough to handle electronic music.
-Closed
Portability isn't an issue since I plan to use the X10's for all of that. Basically, I'm just looking for a beefier, better, full-headphone version of the X10's for roughly the same price (and is nicely suited with the Duet). I still listen to a lot of trance/house but recently I've been getting into downtempo/breakbeat/progressive.
I've been leaning a lot towards the Denon D2000's but there are some replies here and there talking about them being a little sluggish and the mids being recessed, which is definitely what I don't want. If that's not the case, then I'm just waiting for another price drop on amazon.com to happen
