<$250 and the best external noise reduction (so other people can't hear things while I'm listening to my music). Also, how would such headphones compare to the external noise reduction on IEMs?

External noise reduction is actually really easy to achieve. Anything from the $20 HD 201 to the HD 280, a500, Sony eggos, DT 770, or HD 25 ($200) should not leak any noise outside. Comparable to IEMs in the sense that neither closed headphones nor IEMs should leak any appreciable noise whatsoever at normal volumes.

Really? As in...very very little leaking even in quiet environments?

Yeah, where the headphones differ is how much isolation they provide the USER from the outside world. The king of outside isolation is the HD25-1. But if your only concern is outside leakage, any sealed can will do. I prefer the Beyer DT770/80 or DT250/80 for comfort and sound quality.

That's good to hear. I may just have to start reading up on all those A900 vs. DT770 vs. other closed headphones reviews.
