thanks for the tips. Are the Audio Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones easily piloted from an MP3 player or a smartphone? I don't want to be forced to buy a DAC / AMP

yes there only 36ohms so easy to drive, designed to be portable headphones but really people end up using them as their main home set since there so good.

True might be worth emailing them and asking about any dutie fees, another option is some people from europe or uk can often go to other amazon sites
and get it ordered, for example I can order from amazon france and germany outlets.
