Currently all my headphones are Grados (80i, 225i, 325i). Plus i have some PS500s and semi-vintage RS1s on the way. I doubt i will keep all 5 and assuming i get rid of all the SR series i would be interested in getting a nice set of closed headphones. Looking to spend $300-$400 (used). I would like some reccommendations for something that will compliment the Grados. Strong bass and not too bright. Suggestions? And keep in my mind my goal is to buy used in the $300-$400 range.

ID recommend the ATH WS99, which sounds much different than grados, but great imo. They beat many headphones and are in the same class as the $300-$350 headphones.

I have a pair of the kef m500 on its way here (Thursday), so I'll compare.

WS99 is a great choice, or if you spend more, I highly recommend Vmoda M-100, which has strong bass and relatively dark signature.  Sony MDR-1R is also worth considering.

Go to this thread and ask there, or you could just read through all the pages and find the comparison. I remember the guy preferring the ws99 though.:
