Need a quick pointer in terms of closed headphones, since I'm heading off to University/College, i wanna get some closed headphones. Be it for dorm/res use, or for isolation.

I currently use SR80s for headphones, so I wanna get something with a similar sound signature, I listen to mainly jazz, blues, electronic music (DnB, Electro, Trance), and some classical once in a while. I am gonna be running it from either my MSSH or from a Cowon D2.

Budget...around 150? max 200

But do these D1001 isolate outside noise?
I know my D2000 didn't.

they certainly do not.
thats part of how denon's are.

Since you have an amp already, maybe go for the Shure SRH840's.

I've heard DT660's compared to grado's before, so maybe look into those.

ATH-M50 should always be a contender at that price range, very good isolation and most people love their sound. I particularly like them for electronic music.

If isolation is important consider SRH840/SRH440 or ATH-M50. Very nice closed headphones for a decent price.

JVC HA-RX700 or HA-RX900 (which sound much better than the SR60 or SR80, IMO) for $35 or $55. Don't let the price fool you!

But, since you have a bigger budget, the ATH-M50s are very good as well. I consider them a good upgrade to the JVCs (better bass, better highs).

Thanks for the suggestions guys, and gals, if any lol. Ill look further into your suggestions. Hmm i guess isolation is not too big of an issue, if i needed good isolation id use IEMs, im just afraid of complaints due to sound leaking out.
