Closed headphones similar in sound to sennheiser 650 s

I think the TH600 is much bassier than the HD650. The Audeze LCD-XC might be closer?

In the old days, I might have offered up the Denon D5000 as a possible candidate - but alas, those days are long gone...

Thanks for your responses. How about the sennheiser momentum or the mad dog pros. Do they sound similar to the senn 650s?
Thanks
Mike

No and no.

Except that the Momentum sound signature has some similarity to that of the HD 650, but they are not all the same overall.

Maybe the NAD HP50?

I've been involved with this stuff long enough to know that the graphs, while sometimes helpful, don't always tell the whole story, so the similarity in the >100 Hz measurements here might not be indicative of much in actual practice. However, in the comments of this article on the HP50 there were some vague hints that the two might sound similar (or at least that the HP50 and the HD600 do, and the latter is in the same family as the HD650, so extrapolate out from there).

Headphone makers have been trying to make a closed headphone that sounds as good as the HD6x0 line for a long time. Or a closed headphone that sounds as good as any notable open headphone, really. It's a tough cookie to crack.

I own the NAD too. I do like the NAD but it is not as warm or full a sound as the 650s. If I am looking at the graph correctly, it would make me think the NAD should have more bass but to my ears the 650 has more. Can anyone compare the mad dog pros to the NAD HP 50 or the senn 650?
Thanks
Mike

Either way, it'll be pretty difficult to find a pair of closed over ear headphones that sound similar to HD 650. Your best option is to go with great sounding closed headphones, rather than trying to match HD650's sound signature. Focal Professionals, Momentum, and Shure SE1540 are good options.

For on the go use without an amp, I recommend the NAD VISO HP50, PSB M4U 1, Focal Spirit Pro or Sony MDR 7520.  This range of cans can currently be had in about the $250 to $350 range.  These cans are listed in order from warm to dead neutral (I call it a tie in that regard between the FS and Sony).  See:
