I apologize for asking such a tired question, but I've been searching for a couple of days now and I'm looking for more opinions.
I mostly listen to alternative/indie/rock type stuff. To throw out a few artists I like: Death Cab, Sarah Bareilles, Nickel Creek, Guy Clark, Pink Floyd, Snow Patrol, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds, Owl City, Kings of Leon, Cake...hopefully that's enough to get a decent picture. What I'd love to have, from everything I've read, is a pair of Alessandro MS-1's. The reason I can't is because these are for work, and I'm afraid the leakage will bug my coworkers. I'm a programmer, and it's a fairly small, quiet place.
I'm building a y1 and a Mini^3 to power these. The headphones don't need to be portable - I'll probably just leave them at work.
My short list that I've gathered from all my reading is:
- Sennheiser HD448
- ATH-M50
- AKG K271
- Shure SRH840
Any opinions on which of these would be best? I'd favor a forward, fairly neutral presentation. I'm not a big bass head, but I like it to be there. I pay attention to vocals, so that's important. Thanks!
