I listen to classical music on my iPad Mini 2 with a set of Aiaiai Tracks headphones currently, but as I have quite a bit of traffic noise outside my windows I'm now considering closed headphones.
It's for home use, for when sitting or lying on my living room sofa.

If you had to pick between the following phones, which one would you choose considering their price also:

$124: Beyerdynamic DT-660 Pro 32 Ohm
$168: Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro, either 32 or 80 Ohm
$151: Audio-Technica ATH-M50X
$151: AKG 271 MKII
$190: Shure SRH840
$218: Sennheiser Momentum 1.0
$269: Shure SRH940

I do not have the option of listening to any of the phones, but I can buy a pair and then try them out at home, and return them if I don't like them.
Btw. If it's any help, I have a set of Sennheiser HD 600 which I use in front of my computer - I like them very much for their balanced, neutral sound.

Thanks for all advice :)

DT660 plays orchestral and chamber well; other subgenres not so well.

SRH840 is more subgenre versatile but has a heavy headband that you might have to mod.

Momentum has very small earpads but otherwise sounds quite good.

K271 sounds pretty good and would sound even better with light mods.

I wouldn't recommend any of the others . . .

ZMF v1 is much better than all of them. Best luck!

Thanks for the replies :)
I have b&w p7 and Denon mm400 at home this weekend for testing.
Price wise it is a whole different story with these two of course but I got some extra cash unexpectedly just now.
I am impressed with both but especially the p7 sound good to me.
Sound wise it is in a different league than dt 770 etc. or?
Since it is so much more expensive, I mean.
Woodwinds sound so beautifully soft and fragile.
And violins....they have an incredible bite to them when played loud and aggressive by the orchestra.
Brass sounds majestic.
It reminds me a lot about the sound of my living room stereo (nad m51 dac/preamp, Vincent sp 997 power amps, dynaudio excite x32 loudspeakers)

I read that senheiser momentum apparently should have a similar sound as the p7's?

Thanks again, appreciate the input
