Any suggestions for closed headphones (train & work) for a Karma or Zen... unamped for now. I listen to mostly rock, jazz, trip-hop... I'd like clean bass with impact (not boomy)... basically a nice, involving set of headphones. SQ is the most important thing. Anyway, thanks in advance!

Not really... I figure the "unamped" requirement will keep the cost out of the stratosphere. I have no hard limit, but I'd prefer to keep it under about $200.

I use an AKG K271 with my iPod. They're a bit power-hungry, but work well enough unamped. I'm not sure if the bass will be enough for you - admittedly, there's not much of it without EQ. However, what bass is there is quite accurate, and the mids and highs are wonderful.

I hear Audio-Technica's A900s are highly recommended for unamped use as well. I can't comment on them though, as I've never heard them.
