Hi!

I'm looking for a pair of closed cans with the following specifications:

* low impedance (< 40-50 Ohm)
* decent insulation from the noise around me, so closed back
* detachable coiled cable, so I won't have to worry about some abuse
* 50-80$ budget

I know this may sound a bit strange, but I'm not really interested in the audio quality ... I need them for ham radio where my main concern is pulling out weak voice signals from a lot of white noise, and the technical specifications (low impedance, insulation from other noise sources) are more important.

Frequency response doesn't really matter, as the radio filters will cut above 2.4 - 3 kHz anyway...

Thanks a lot for the help and sorry for the odd question :)

Check Tuesday Morning for the Koss Tony Bennett Signature Edition (TBSE's). Closed, detachable coiled cable, machined aluminium cups and swivels. Midrange is their strong point, great for vocals. They also have a Mono switch, which I think would be perfect for pulling voices from the ether... "CQ CQ CQ DX" :D

$50 and they come with a hard case to boot...

Also as we say here "Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry bout your wallet", as a HAM operator you've probably said goodbye to your wallet long ago. :D
