In the 100 range you are looking at only two IMO. I would order both the Shure and the Denon from JR music and make sue you call them for lowest price listen to both for 30 days and return nthe ones you don't want. The Denon 1001 are great cans as I own these and have not listened to the Shures. The Sennheiser are nice. I listened to them but ended up returning them.

X6 M50. I own both the 440 and the M50, and I'd say the M50 beats the 440 in every aspect.

I've read up on the ATH-M50 and specifically didn't include it because I didn't think the sound profile would work for me. Maybe I was wrong.

Any more thoughts on the Denons? They seem to have slipped through the cracks.

I'll be honest, I'm really liking the Shure SRH-840. Any reasons why the M50 might be better?
