Need closed due to sharing space with others.
 
Listen to just about everything, but enjoy hip hop and rock the most.  Bass will not scare me off.
 
Have an CK2III amp.  I select output transistors similar to 2SC2238 / 2SA968 (2SC4793 / 2SA1837) .
 
I have a Denon AH-D1001.   Enjoy the sound and comfort.  It has survived the first 6 or so months with me.
 
I could spend $100-$300 without much trouble.   Above that probably have some issues.
 
Looking at:
Denon D2000 - Concerned with durability.   Sound probably would be fine.
 
Beyer DT770 / impedance 600? other? Pro vs. non pro? - I've tried to read up on this one, but hard to pin down.   Some say it pairs best with a tube amp, so concerned the CK2III may not warm up the sound enough and I don't have an EQ to tweak sound if needed.
 
Shure 840 - Almost ready to eliminate based on comfort issues reported.
 
ATH-M50 - Seems to be in the same league as the above options, and cheaper. 
 
 
Leaning toward the DT770 as i figure some configuration of it should pair up with my amp well.   Still have a lot of reading to do on this model.  The models and sub models present a lot of options is there a faq/guide to them?
