Hello!

I'm looking for a closed circumaural headphone for max 100€

I would like the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro... but while at headphone.com they say it's fantastic, somewhere else they say it's not so good, with too hights and even fragile...

Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot!

Few questions:

What kind of music do you prefer?
How much isolation do you need?
What equipment will you be listening to these headphones with?
Do you prefer accuracy/neutrality in music or a fun/"euphonic" sound?

Any info will be helpful in determining the best cans for you.

Well:

- I like relaxing music, but also pop and rock... I can pass from Linking Park to Enya, from Phill Collins to Madonna, Maria Carey, Celine Dion.
I think I like most "voices"...
- Well... isolation is not the most important factor, but if I can keep the world out when I listen to music it's better

- I'll use them only in my sofa
, plugged to a Harman Kardon AV 2550

(The open/closed headphones is another big doubt... do you ear so much the noise around when you listen with open headphones?)

Several weeks ago I tried HD280 at store and I wasn't impressed - I mean they have good midrange and highs but are not very well balanced: the lower end is too recessed.

I ended up buing AKG K271S. These are, for me, the best sounding closed headphones I tried (ok, I didn't try very expensive closed cans - for obvious reasons...).

I know they are more expensive than HD280 but maybe you should consider them as well...

For home use, because they are large, the AT A500 are great.

Consider the AKG 240S for home use -- they are "semi-open"

Thank you all
!

Well, the AKG 240 should be less good than the 280 Pro (at least as I read from the reviews)... The AKG 271S instead should be good... but they're a little too expensive (I should go to at min 150€)...

I've searched for the Audio Technica, but they're like phantoms here in Italy
!

You won't get them in shops with walls and stuff, there are very few A-T authorised resellers in the Western world. Check out Bluetin, their European shop should ship to Italy
The much-loved A900 is only 142€
