Title says it all, needs to have those 4 requirements: closed, durable, don't need an amp, and $100 or less. Oh, and they have to sound good too

What will work?

The shure 440 might be a good option once it comes out, especially if just replacing the pads can really improve sq.

The audiotechnica ATH-M50's? where have you seen them for $100 or under? I checked online and every place I could find had them for $159.

used ES7 (durability is so-so but it sounds alright.)
used 770 pro (you might not be pleased with the sound based on your preferences for detail/bass amounts, but theyre bulletproof) ($99 for used 80 ohm shows up frequently... sounds fine from a decent soundcard compared to amped)
cant really comment otherwise
used ES7
$85. ^

Panasonic rp-htx7.

Closed: No one will hear anything you're listening to and you won't hear anyone else.
Durable: Yup.
Sound: Sound great too me. I listen to a lot of hip-hop and they could considered bass heavy by some but I like that about them.

60 and under if you want to get a little cheaper with your headphones.

go to ebay search 'dbi headphones'
these use the mb quart unbreakable design and their own 40 ohm speakers, sound is fantastic. i saw them for 40$ shipped recently

i own a 770, and it doesnt.
Itll get by modestly on a number of portables.
Ampsll clean up the bass a little, strengthen the mids a little and add more energy to the sound but itll sound 90+% out of a portable in the case of the 80 ohm. from a decent soundcard you can get 97% of the SQ its capable of IMO.
