[Chesky Records]

Chesky Records spent much of the summer combing through over 3,500 submissions to its inaugural Singer-Songwriter search through ReverbNation. After many hours listening and much debate, we've narrowed the field down to 13.

I agree - I had to go to Spotify to find out how they really sounded.  Video has pretty bad audio.

R_burke and jh7000 thank you for taking the time to find our music and listen. It's also on soundcloud (at /nmbr11).
We had some limitations as for videos in plain acoustic form which is the way Chesky might want to go with the recordings, but the bottom line is that you can listen to a true live performance of our band: no autotune, no bells and whistles... just us.
 
We will explore the possibility of using another video for the next round.

Lynette Williams: clearly a great vocal talent, but maybe been playing guitar for... 6 months? 
NMBR11: definitely something more likely to buy despite the fact that Williams has the greater vocal talent IMHO.

Maybe next year or next time Chesky could just invite the final 10-15 artists to a recording study do a single recording so that the quality is equalized.  Might also be more fair if it were voice only rather than videos.  And there is a lot of variability in the rules.  Videos are present but people are researching some artists but not all artists.  I would like to see a more equal playing field.
 
If we were basing decisions on the videos present then Lynette Williams wins hands down.  Her vocal is better and her video is better recorded.  The NMBR11 video sounds dreadful.  Though they are clearly talented.
