Which closed can has the BIGGEST soundstage? Let's keep it under $500 street price.

EDIT: I currently have an Ultrasone DJ1 that I really like. The DJ1 soundstage is big, but BIGGER is always better

. I wanted to know if there is something better in soundstage respect.

Try either the HFI or Proline Ultrasone's, you might like them... According to others, you might also like a Denon D2000.

ATH-W5000 has a wide soundstage but the Ultrasone Edition 9 has a more precise one from my experience.

I will agree with that. But, at the same time the Denon D5000 have a decent soundstage despite the beefy base.

How do the Denon AD2000 compare with the Ultrasone 750/780 in soundstage and amp/unamped?

I've been trying to get a solid answer for days... The closest I've come to understand would be depending on your mood and type of music. I think people like the Denon D2000 better if you are looking for a more relaxed sound, like classical and soft jazz (other genres work too). The 780's are more your fun rockers with a hint of techno dependency due to their forward motion of the sound-stage they possess. (780's can also be considered as an all around any music headphone too.) Just make sure that you are prepared for 200+ hours of burn-in any way you like it... And you will probably need to drop $-150 to get them recabled unless you like their Grado 325i highs.

R10 and DX1000 for over-budget

.

D5000/D2000 for mid-fi closed (out of what I have listened to). Ultrasone 780 really didn't have much soundstage from what I recall (at least it certainly was not comparable to D5000 in that regard).
