Would appreciate some feedback/suggestions for a very specific headphone need.
Inexpensive phones that have a modest degree of isolation, are adjustable to fit both a smallish sized head and ears and a more normal size head/ears and be comfortable enough to listen for up to three hours at a stretch. Source will be a PC and sound card. Sound quality doesn't have to be great... these are not going to be used for much music.
Yes, it's an odd request... here's the reason.
My 8 year old nephew has an auditory processing problem... he doesn't process auditory signals the way most folks do. This has lead to some challenges in school.
He's going to go through some training to help make sure he learns how to hear and process what he's suposed to even though his brain isn't wired the way noggins usually are. The training is CD ROM based. There are times when he will need to spend up to three hours at one sitting going through this program. His mom will also be going through the training.
The specialists that are helping with this task suggested getting headphones that help block out other sounds that might be distracting. But, they don't have to isolate completely. And they have to be comfortable... they're pretty adament about the need to go through this specific program at a specific pace and for a specific amount of time.
So, need good comfort for an 8 year old sized head and ears (and the guy has small ears!). His mom also needs a pair to do the training with him.
Anyone have experience with Senn HD 202?? How about Koss UR20? Other closed, comfy cans that can be driven by a sound card would be appreciated as well.
Thanks!
Bruce
