Hi,

I love my X2 for how they sound, comfort and fact I can easily drive them of any device.
Unfortunately people at my office don't share the feeling, especially when I get carried over with EDM/dubstep.

So for now I'm using Bose QC15 ( noise cancelling ) which I find great comfort wise, even better then X2.
However they're lacking the X factor of X2's :)

With the Black Friday coming it's excellent time to buy new closed back headphones.
Any recommendations?

Philips A5 PRO closed cans

I was gonna mention those but the price is high and the clamping force is immense.

I'd be ok with the price. I can spend up to £300 but strong clamping force/lack of comfort is a BIG NO NO.

There is a slight clamping force but I'm not having comfort issues with my set.
Soundwise they are very close to my HD650 and that for a closed can. In my opinion these are very good headphones.

Ok, I've got now Shure 1540 on my radar and SoundMAGIC HP150.
Hope they will be on sale this Friday.

The HD650 is better in every way but A5 PRO is very good for a closed HP if you like the Sennheiser HD6x0 sound
The treble of the A5 is rolled off a bit (therefor less sparkle and a sense of less detail. A5 has more bass (mid bass but especially sub-bass). If you like EDM or electronic music it could very well be that you like the A5 over the HD650.
If jazz or other genres with real instruments is your kinda music the HD650 wins everytime.

Soundstage is very difficult for me to judge because it's not one of my own criteria I use for headphone comparisons
