Hi,

Is there a way to determine if my closed headphones will benefit from modding them to make them open-back?
The question is mostly general, but i'm eyeing to make my AKG Y50 open-back, I just don't want to ruin its sound.

You could try taking off the outer shell and seeing how it sounds then. You'll probably have a good idea as to how it would sound open back.
