Currently using HD598s, I like their sound however I'm also using them in a band rehearsal situation and they just let in too much sound to be effective for monitoring. I find the 598s very comfortable as well.
I know there is the closed back version of the HD598 but they seem to be discontinued and difficult to find, plus there might be better options out there anyway.
I tried a bandmates' ath-m50x red edition which I didn't like, I found them physically uncomfortable compared to the HD598. Too forward and mid scooped sound as well, I prefer the less fatiguing more relaxed sound of the 598. I don't mind to be a bit less relaxed than the 598 but not so much like the M50x.
Headphone amp is a Mackie HM4. Don't really want to spend more than ~350 AUD. Ideally these would be used for mixing our demos as well, I have speakers to mix on too.
