Jip, those are the exact ones I bought. Built quality is not so great, but they all work. you want 2x per sound card. (for the I/V section)

from my playing they were the most transparent and the most neutral, they suited the AKGs and the denons. The only one that sounded better with the AKG's was the AD797, but it is unstable as hell and not a good idea, but man Oh man were they clear, just too much treble.

The Denon HP700 is very good, and a great value, definitely great in the isolation department. But sonically, they are not the equal of the D2000 - less airy, less nuanced, more "flat" midrange. Don't get me wrong - the 700's are very good and worth auditioning, it's just the 2000 eclipses them in sound quality by a solid margin. For the "budget Denon" sound, (via Foster) my preference is the Creative Aurvana Live, for its comfort.

Well, i just ordered the K242HD's from amazon, couldnt help myself at the price. yay for $3 one day shipping

Should have waited. I just tested them, they aren't bad isolation wise at 5ft. but if you listen loud and she listens at low volume with lots of empty passages then you will hear bits. But if you both listen at normal levels, shouldn't be a prob.
