Is it possible to extract the oils from leather ear pads?
I don't mean rubbing some leather conditioner on them either.  I don't see how this is going to remove any of the oils. It's just going rub more crap on top of the oils in the leather, covering up the odour.

My over the ear pads are getting pretty saturated with body oils, I've had them for several years now and I use them regularly.  And yes I shower daily, but even so, the skin around our face and scalp produce oils constantly.

Now I find the oils are starting to smell because there's just so much of it and I guess the oils are going rancid.  (lol I know it's gross but that's what oils do)

Anyway I want to find a way to take the oils out without removing the pads because they are PITA to reattach, although I can remove them if necessary.
