Cleaning In Ear Monitors

So, I purchased an Audio Technica InEar; IM50
The mesh filter of one of the earpiece became damaged, thus, I had to remove both of them as having one side with filter & the other without made it sound weird.
I am afraid of earwax or oils slowly clogging up the sound canal (or tube). Is there an effective way to keep them clean. Obviously, ATH does not supply a specialised tool since the filters were never meant to be removed & it just so happened that I own a black coloured pair making it impossible to see in there even with a torch shining directly into it.

I am not intimately familiar with the soundtube design of the IM50, but what I can tell you is that the standard tool for cleaning CIEM (custom-moulded IEM) nozzles is a little plastic stick with a brush at one end, and (more-importantly), a fine wire loop at the other, which enables one to actually 'catch' and 'pull-out' any ear wax and dust from a soundtube.
