Hmm I missed this thread:

I have applied to:
Reed
Brown
Northwestern
Macalester
Penn
Tufts
Wesleyan
Vassar
Yale

My list looks ambitious, but I'm being honest, I didn't apply anywhere I wouldnt want to go. I'm pretty relaxed about the whole process which (this year more than any other) is a total crap shoot. I applied early to brown because they have an incredibly strong music technology program (which is important to me), my best friend was applying and both his parents went and spoke warmly about it. As I predicted (I bet him 50 buck hehe), I was deferred and he was admitted even though I have better grades, test scores, and extracurriculars. I'm not bitter, but I was a bit disappointed that I won't get to enter the next stage of my life with my best friend of ten years. The flipside is that it will probably be good for me meet new people. I guess I could still be accepted regular too.

Right now I think my first choice is Reed because my interviewer was awesome. He was about 30 and graduated from Reed to attend Harvard law school.
Me:"my parents have this preconception that Reed is a school for quirky intellectual stoners. Discuss."
Him: (laughs)
"I don't see how you could possibly ****ing succeed at Reed if you were blazed all the time. My time at reed is the hardest I've ever worked, before or after."

But I'll have to see where I get in and do some more visits.

I applied to Iowa State in August and received my application receipt/acceptance letters on the same day. I guess they must have liked me.

No use applying anywhere else.
