Can I use MUR820 diodes instead of the 1n4004's? Can I also add a ceramic capacitors in parallel to the diodes like in the Steps and o11 psu's?

Yes you can, I have also use ultrafast recovery rectifier in my build.
For diodes like the MUR820, parallel capacitors (100pF...1nF) can be used the same way as in the Sigma11 PSU.

Thank you! I thought you could, but wasn't sure..
Nice tidy build by the way! Have you got a thread on head-fi for it?

But what is the point of using ultrafast recovery rectifiers when there is nothing ultrafast to recover from?

I don't have any 1n4004's, but do have about 20 MUR820's here.
