I'm in the market to get myself a CIEM for commute and work (noisy server rooms) in the range of $500 US (preferably not much over, including shipping).
The reason i'm looking for CIEM is comfort - regular iems just hurt my ears, regardless of which tips i use.
I listen to mostly rock, jazz, metal and occasionally classical music and hiphop/d&b/electronical, for example, a few of my favorites would be: queen, toto, the alan parsons project, jamiroquai, john coltrane, dream theater, tool, beethoven, chopin, the prodigy & infected mushroom.
right now i'm looking at one of the following:
alclair reference triple
cosmic ears ce3p
custom art fibae 2
i generally prefer sound with the mids slightly emphasized, or at least not recessed (not V-shaped) and highs that aren't harsh or fatiguing.
any other recommendations and/or ideas would be greatly appreciated, as well as personal experience with the companies and their service.
