20GB & 30GB.

The standard X5 occasionally whips your arse too.

Get the 'L', like moi...mine should turn up soon

Don't compromise. You'll only regret it

Also, when the batt inevitably degrades after 3-4years (as in all built ins), the 'L' will still last into double figures

The L is heavier and thicker (0.5cm overall). It's up to you. I would get the x5l. unless it really needs to slide in your pocket easily then get the x5

Depending on how many songs you have....have them in WAV...X5 has like a 0.002 sec gap for that...practically gapless. Think about it - if you don't have many songs, might as well go lossless or whatever. But prob easier with 30gb for the margin

The X5 plays FLAC.

Well, if you use FLAC I think its a no-brainer to get the 30GB. In fact they do a 60GB, if you can stretch to that...

In my experience FLAC files are 4 times bigger than my mp3s, they certainly don't sound 4 times better...

Then again, you then need to decide between X5 60GB or X5L 30GB.

The 60GB version is a bit thicker than the 20 and 30GB version, hence they are not doing a 60GB version of the X5L.
