I picked up a k701 for my father that I am bringing for him when I go visit for christmas. He knows about it and is paying me back, even if i tried not to take his money it wouldn't work. So, I want to get him a nice headphone amp to go with it that'll be sent to him when I am not there. This way he can't give me money

. He has nice nice stereo equipment but no headphone specific amp.

So I have around $400 to spend and I would like your opinions on an amp that has good synergy with the K701. No real preference as to whether it is solid state or tubes.
