I just have Mojo 2, very nice sounding but the soundstage is quite narrow, and the crossfeed make it even narrower.

it sounds weird, to my ears, Mojo 2 has a big soundstage, much larger than the predecessor, which device do you compare the soundstage to?

Crossfeed will narrow your soundstage. My main usage for crossfeed is to reduce the hard panned produced music (think rock from 60s and 70s) or for orchestral music to give a more realistic presentation.

I would not consider Mojo2 soundstage narrow by any means.

If your mojo 2 is brand new, give it 30-50 hours of work. Mine also sounded as you describe it, at first, but it rapidly improved after a while. The stage opens up drastically and is one of mojo 2’s most astonishing features. To me Crossfeed always sounds compressed and narrow-staged but that’s just down to personal taste and maybe the specifics of your headphones. Cheer up, you’ve got a great new device there. :)

I agree here, if you think the M2 soundstage is narrow you should the try the M1. It's significantly improved. The Hugo 2 is even better.

Totally agree. I only use it with IEMs but Mojo 2 has a spherical and very coherent soundstage that’s filled in with decent depth - it’s not small to me but I can see why it can be thought so especially if compared to desktop gear. It’s a much improved presentation compared to the Mojo 1. The Hugo 2 is wider and has more air all round but not necessarily as filled in so it can come across as ‘stretched’ on occasion to me.

While I love the Mojo 2, and 1, for their unique sound presentation, the "headstage" is truly narrow.
Especially compared to my R28 by a huge margin.

But that's not a fault by any means.
It gives a different flavor for my music enjoyment.
So it isn't a drawback for me. :)

Yes, this is still happening - it's nothing to do with the transducers and everything to do with the input. I get it when something interferes with USB-C input - either poor quality cable, moving around with phone (android), plugging in laptop (windows)... but there are hundreds of posts about it in this thread and others have different triggers.

It is unpleasant when it hits but not unbearable and has only happened to me maybe a dozen times.

When I worried about it more I used a cheap DDC to convert USB from source to optical (Rob Watts's preferred input iirc) or coax. But I don't usually bother anymore.

I had it a few times when I first had the Mojo2. In each case it was traced to the cable. I eventually started using the straight, not 90 degree, DDHIFI cables and didn’t get the problem again. I eventually added a Poly and wouldn’t go back to a cable.

For me, it only ever happens with one specific source (my iPhone SE) and only if I connect the Mojo 2 to my phone before turning the Mojo 2 on. Now I just regularly turn on the Mojo 2 first, then connect it. Fixed. No issues with other sources (PC, DAPs, USB isolators, etc).

It never happened to me.

Xperia 1 iii/ Surface Pro 7, iFi OTG adapter cable, usb a to micro usb cable to Mojo 2.

But as Hypops, I regularly turn on the Mojo 2 first.

Thought I’d share my white noise experience. I’ve only had the noise when using the silver DDHIFI 90 degree angle cable…but if I unplugged the connector into the iPhone and turned it in the opposite direction, the white noise never happens. Sometimes I forget the “right” direction and I get the noise, flip it and can listen all day without issue.

If I want to use optical can I just plug it directly into my pc? Some people had concerns about how the onboard soundcard handled optical, losing benefits of Chord's exclusive modes and ASIO drivers..? I know very little about these things. Just ordered a Mojo 2 and from reading this thread I want to try that first if I can (especially bottom post on page 711).
