As recommended by Rob Watts and others on this thread I set the volume on Mojo 2 to dark blue in the second volume range, so getting close to max volume. I think this is equivalent to 3v but I'm not certain
This has worked well for other amps I've paired the Mojo with, but with the Vorzuge it was just too loud and I could barely get the volume knob above 8 o'clock.
So I'm now dialling it back a few notches to get a greater range of volume control on the amp itself.
Don't think there's a hard a fast rule with this, a little experimentation should yield the optimal setting for you.

Hi there.

The way I set the volume is first adjust the Gain .
Low on anything 30ohm and under.
Mid or High for 300ohm.
Then turn volume knob to 12oclock position.
Adjust Mojo 2 volume until it’s just a bit too high.
Then back off the Mojo 2 volume a bit.
This gives you the wiggle room on the Vorzuge amp from 10-2 .

Most times the colour balls are showing blue.

On other dongle type dacs I set there volume too max if they output up to 2 volts.

They later added 3 levels of gain on the Duo ii.

Try a later model and just a Pure.

No - it's just an adaptor. You will lose a tiny bit of transparency due to extra contacts in the signal path though.



That's by design - no locking SPDIF being present and the absence of VBUS (the 5v from the USB source) will cause Mojo 2 to shut down after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Please pardon my ignorance, but what is a locking spdif?

Heavily sedated for the photo no not really, just back from a day out walking the coast. Even spaniels have their limits.

I am not able to answer that as mine is still in the mail on the way to me. I will be using with a DAC.

Of course.
assuming you have Windows laptop. Use Direct Out.
But that is not wise on many levels.
Many . . .
Use WASAPI or ASIO and use Mojo2 s own volume, if you care about sound quality.
If you don't , there are cheaper DACs out there.
