Not an expert, but UAPP has Qubuz onboard.
So you can get bit-perfect Qubuz with an Android phone and UAPP.
The issue is this solution only works while you're online, and on wifi because large files aren't practical on cellular. Downloaded music (a frequent use-case personally for me) is a no-go with UAPP.

Bypassing Android resampling is a crucial matter. Well, at least for us snobby audiophiles 😋

From my Mojo 2 presentation:

Slide13.JPG

So for 2v you need to set both volume LEDs to indigo (that's the first colour above blue).

Do I understand correctly that clipping is only possible when both the + and - LEDs are white?

So, if one presses "-" once from there, and the + LED is white whereas the - LED is ultra-violet, that is the highest setting that will not clip?

The slide doesn't show these "half" settings where the two LEDs are different colours.

Yes - both need to be white for it to clip. This of course assumes that no boost EQ is employed - if you added +3dB via the EQ then you would need to go 3 steps down to guarantee no clipping with 0dB FS input signals (that's the max possible from digital).

Just a point.
since music power is predominantly just at bass, boosting bass by EQ most certainly will have the effect described.
However, if one does boost other frequencies (above 150Hz or so) by few dBs, it will not clip! past a few kilohertz, you can boost even 10/15dB and still have headroom left.
This is with music only! not frequency sweeps.

Bit of a cross/post with the Hugo 2 thread regarding getting one of those.

I am getting intermittent noise in the left channel when using my Mojo 2 with EE Odins. Also had the same problem with Andromeda 2020's. Right channel has a constant noise floor, but the left seems elevated and sporadic.

Before anyone asks about my source/cables, this still happens if the Mojo 2 is on Optical or even connected to nothing.

I also live out in a rural area on two acres. I can walk far back enough into my property that I don't even get a cell signal, let alone anything else. Issue still happens back there.

Is this a normal problem? I reached out to Chord some time ago, and had a few messages back and forth with their support with no answer. They asked for some time for them to get an engineer's opinion, but they never got back to me. Rather than trying to chase them down, I thought I'd try my luck here.

And anyone with a Hugo 2: If this is a normal problem with the Mojo 2, then is it the same with the Hugo 2?

Thanks for any help or guidance.

Happening on both 3.5mm outputs and on different cables and headphones? If so, sounds like a repair issue to me.

This is kind of what I am hoping is the issue. I just emailed chord support again to see if they have a suggestion. I don’t mind a minor noise floor, but the intermittent buzzing is quite distracting

If it was mine I stop using it, or at least only use it with headphones or IEMs you don't care about. My first Mojo 2 smoked an IEM, I'd imagine the noise mine was outputting was a level of DC, this is not good for fragile voice coils, the replacement has been fine.

Did your Mojo 2 fry the IEM as a result of the low buzzing or because of the random volume voltage spikes that I read about in the early days of its release? Either way, I think I'll stop using it as I'm not looking to risk my equipment for now.

Does anyone know the repair channel to go through for the US? I bought the unit in Canada on vacation and, as such, can't use that shop.

That sounds concerning! It’s definitely risky to use the Mojo 2 with sensitive IEMs if there's a chance of DC output, which could damage the voice coils. I’d agree with your approach—only use it with IEMs or headphones you're not worried about, or at least keep a close eye on the sound quality to avoid issues. Glad to hear your replacement is working fine
Well now I’m concerned! How can I tell if a voice coil is damaged? Is it a sudden thing that’s obvious or just a gradual dropoff in sound quality?

Damaged voice coils are not subtle. Unless you hear distortion where there was none before or there is a substantial sound imbalance, you're fine.

Voice coil damage usually shows as distorted sound, less clarity, or loss of bass. It’s often gradual, but severe damage could cause complete loss in certain frequencies. If you notice these signs, stop using them and have them checked.
I suppose I will do a bunch of critical listening today, but now I’m going to be paranoid that there’s been damage done.

I live in Georgia, which is where Empire Ears is. Maybe I can have them checked out.

Wow, really enjoying the Mojo2! After only one day it has altered my perspective on audible enjoyment. Not that I don’t enjoy what I already have, but this adds a welcome difference providing a nice change of pace by hearing my playlist differently…

Also, took to the lights like water on a ducks back, so intuitive. Seriously. 😜
