has anyone done this, and can they report any change in performance? it is a long run for the half decent stock cable. can anyone recommend a good termination plug?

A milliohms of resistance and a few picofards/henrys of inductance/capacitance is negligable compared to the inductance and hundreds of ohms of resistance of the headphones. (....waits for flames...).
