Hi,

Anyone has references for Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu? I've the Zimmerman on DG copy only and am looking for other recordings by other pianists. Any MUST HAVES?

Thanks!

Yup, Rubinstein is the best. Nobody's playing is like his. He is the only pianist who truly knows creating different tones with a piano. His strong, artistically noble singing sound and connate musicality made him the greatest of all the pianists. After you have listened enough to him you will clearly see the flaws of the other pianists.

A lot of the great Chopinists chose not to record this piece. I also like the Rubinstein. Askenazy does it for me too.
