So - I'm just about done with this project... It's guzzler's USB DAC coupled with a CMOY. Now I just need to find a case for the bugger and I'm done. Here's it all in an Altoids tin:

it's a bit of a tight fit - but it does fit, so I'm vaguely considering putting it all in one. But I'd rather something more professional looking... Any suggestions? I'd really like it to be as small as possible... The only extra thing that will need to be in it is the headphone jack, which I think will be a Digi-Key CP-43502PM-ND. No batteries or anything like that.

edit: for some reason a + in a file name doesn't work when posting images... How odd.

My plan is to use the regulated 5V from the USB DAC. I was told it should be OK as long as I was careful with my op-amp selection. If it ends up being a problem I'll just find a step up DC DC converter.

I know you said batteries were not part of the whole deal but they do have an option for a rear mounted battery tray that pulls it all together pretty nicely. [img]http://www.head-fi.org/forums/images/smilies/smily_headphones1.gif

Looks pretty nice - so do those have to be bought directly from the manufacturer? Or do some distributors carry them?

I know this is a bit of topic but which is that cmoy pcb?? Where from??

You could also check the hammond enclosures, the small ones such as 1455C801.

Pretty cool. I second the recommendation for the Lansing case. I don't know how much it goes for, but it looks like a tank. I'd get it in flat black though. I don't like the gloss.

What gloss?
If you mean the gloss in the image I posted it came from cleaning the amp with pledge.
