Currently beating my head against the wall trying to figure out what direction to go. I'm looking for a closed headphone and ended up buying the DT770 (250ohm) and I'm not happy with them at all. I tried using them in a competitive gaming setting and the bass is just too boomy to cue in on the little details in a game like cs:go. I'm looking at the Mad Dog, Mad Dog Pro, Alpha Dog, and Shure 1540 but I can't figure out what the hell I want. I have a bifrost/asgard 2 combo that would be driving them. They'll be used for music as well and I basically listen to everything except for country.
Right now I have the HD598 and HD650 and enjoy them both. I listen to almost all genres of music (mainly EDM, Metal, Rock) and they'll be used for both serious and fun gaming. I'm looking for something with more bass than either of the cans I have now, but I don't want it boomy like the DT770. I also found the DT770 to be extremely bright for me at times almost making my ears bleed.
HALP!
