I currently own a xonar DX but i am planning on buying an amp / DAC combo so I can have a cleaner source / have some more volume and body on the sound of my headphones.
I have narrowed down to three options

SMSL M3 - https://zococity.es/smsl-m3
Fiio E10K - https://zococity.es/fiio-e10k
AudioQuest Dragonfly Black - https://zococity.es/audioquest-dragonfly-black

Portability inst very important , I was heavily leaning towards the M3 , mainly because of the super positive review by Zeos
.
The hardest cans I have to drive are the sennheiser hd 449 which sound a bit thin without an amp so I dont need a ton of power .

At the same time the Dragonfly Black has gotten a ton of buzz as well , its really hard to decide.

Looking forward to your input.
Cheers.

I don't have the M3, but I own the Sanskrit and am very impressed with both the build and sound quality.

Comparing using my Rega Saturn via digital co-axial and analogue phono out, the Sanskrit actually reaches a little deeper in the bass and is only really lacking slightly behind when it comes to timing and energy.

I think the DAC chip in the 6th Gen Sanskrit is slightly better than the M3, so might be worth adding to your list.

I have my eye on the M8 now!
