A friend of mine is spending some time working in China.
The only audio shop he has passed so far was advertising brands he had never heard of before - promenint was "CAV" - anybody know anything about this stuff or does it stand for Cash Always Valued.
Although evrything seems to be manufactored in China - the more familiar brand names do not seem to be available - what Chinese brands are worth listening to? BTW - my buddy is a big 2B fan.
Thanks - appreciate the help!

"Cash Always Valued" I like that. CAV is a bit more mainstream, i.e. form over function.

China is a great place to get tube stuff. Good manufactures include Consonance (Opera Audio), Shanling, Jolida, G&W, CEC, Coresun, and a few others. Many are based in Beijing.

Try www.av-2000.com as a start.

There's also a large DIY following. The most famous is Yeli in Bejing. Lots of info on the Chinese audio forums.

Moderators, maybe we should move this to the member's forum.
