You can thank Peter Cetera for that.

Can't stand the way he sings, he wrecked the band.

I saw Chicago last month (at a county fair).
Sat too far away to see who was on stage, but the horns were and someone playing keyboards that I couldn't identify were obviously old enough to be original members. Not sure about the others.

The playing was great, but it was the worst sounding show I'd ever been to. They kept messing with the sound through the whole show. Couldn't hear the horns sometimes and when there was any kind of solo he maxed it out.
Never had a flute solo (color my world) rattle bleachers before.

Anyway, get the early albums on vinyl, they sound great!

I have the original double LP of CTA, one of the most fun Vinyl's in the collection. It's seen better days though

At the Elkhart County Fair? My girlfriend saw that show and she told me that the sound quality through the first half was awful (improper levels, muffled SQ), but that it was a little better during the second half.

She also said that the lead guitarist had a solo spot near the end that was very impressive, and she's hard to impress.

This is totally off-topic, but I feel compelled to share it anyway. Back in my second year of college, my suitemates and I came up with a concept for a celebrity American Idol. We each chose someone who we thought should be in there. Naturally I chose Freddie Mercury (disregarding the fact that he's dead), my roommate chose Maynard (from Tool) and my other suitemate chose Peter Cetera. We laughed at him.

Like I said, off-topic, but whatever.

Goshen, so very close to the fair. My friends and family always go at least once every year. This year, I didn't have time to ride the Tilt-A-Whirl, so I was a little disappointed. But I did get a tasty Chicago-style hot dog from one of the places on food row, so it was okay.

What kind of guitar solo was it, anyway? Similar to any other popular guitarists' styles?

Ah,
Goshen. Dodging the horses & buggies.
I'm over the state line in the "burg".

The guitar solo was good, but typical.

I'm a huge Chicago fan. If you don't have the Chicago 25 (christmas album). Go get it! Let it snow is just fantastic. These guys are so talented. I've seen them a few times in concert over the years.

My dad was a pretty big Chicago fan back in the day! He's got several original LPs, which he later got on CD, which I then 'borrowed'

I just bought him CTA this year on CD, and I'm really enjoying it. Previously, II was my favorite, especially Make Me Smile! I've also got V and VIII on my system, but I hardly ever listen to those. II is a classic for sure! Chicago is freekin awesome!
