Im looking for a new full sized Headphone for around 1500-2000$. Im also open for the used market.

I prefer a warm and not too analytical sound paired with good dynamics and details. Unfortunately, the Elite I recently heard at $4000 is overkill. That's why I would be very grateful for cheap alternatives.

Empy is slower, less aerial, certainly less balanced and may be less audiophile but with an upgrade cable and angled pads it's really great.
I just past two weeks with both and I don't ready yet to sell my Empy...

Dunno, is it just a medioce headphone with good tuning but avarage technicalities? In this case i could get a used HD800 and had at least the party trick of wide soundstage

I would get an used HD800S for 850€ and HD800 for 650€ is it worth to get the S instead of the normal?

Is the non-s 800 available new? My understanding is the HD800 was replaced by the HD800s. At least in the US.

The HD800s is a newer revision with minor but useful upgrades but dosent think its worth it. Also the Sound can be harsh and you dosent get the sense of emotion that you would get with warmer headphones
