need a backup pair for my home. they're both 20 bucks right now and that's all I want to spend. I know neither pair will be the greatest but I'm not looking for the greatest. I've never really used any headphones under 40-50 bucks for recording  so I was wondering if anyone had any input on these 2 models.  just looking for the pair with the most accurate sound as they'll be used for recording and mixing in a pinch. thanks

The best you're likely to get is "OK" in this price range.  I go a another model # cheap AKG and it was garbage.  The cheap Senn will beat that.  However, if I were crap shooting in this price range, I would put my chips on the Monoprice Hi-Fi DJ Style Headphone.  See:

thanks, the akg's aren't completely cheap though. they usually retail for like 50$ and get excellent reviews on amazon and musician store websites but are on sale for 20  which is why i threw them into the discussion.  if anyone has any personal use with the akgs i would greatly appreciate any input.

thanks for the monoprice link as well i'll consider those too.  i've ordered cheapo cables from them and been quite satisfied

Stay away from the Monoprice for recording or any critical listening. They're far from a flat signature, and will skew all your mixes. At your price range, the HD201 is your best bet.

ok thanks a lot .  i was leaning towards them because of the free shipping too.   like i said im not expecting much from any of the models listed i just want some cheap backups to use that will 'get the job done" when needed. accurate sound and sound isolation/no bleeding  is most important . looks like ill get a pair of 201's .

I've owned two pairs; they're nothing special, but they'll get the job done and are the most accurate at your price range.
