I know some IEMs come with airplane adapters and the like that claim to reduce white noise - Are there any small and cheap amps that do this as well? I was going to get the fiio e3 with a pair of used RE2's off this site, unless theres a better amp for the job.

Travagans Colors

59.00 US S
Super small
all necessary attachments uncluding USB and two 3.5 - 3.5 short male-male adapters and as silly as it sounds, The leather/Canvas wrap shows great imagination on the part of Travagans

NO Distortion

Downside ? no on/off or volume control

I also tried the Boosteroo Revolution 30 USD
More Amp but More distortion as well.

I ordered the Fio E-3 but DealExtreme took too long to ship so I cancelled order.
I like the Travagans any way

The lack of On/Off is the most concerning to most threaders. The e-3 also has a gain switch which boosteroo and Travagans do not.I cannot speak to E-3's distortion but thier pretty inexpensive right now so maybe G0 For IT and let us know what you find out.

I bought four E3s from Dealextreme (gave one away), and shipping time isn't bad at all. For $8.50, how can you go wrong? Oh, sound-wise, the E3 do not distort any of my phones. A worthwhile expenditure in my view. Oh, and I have the RE2s (my daughter secured them from me) and they match up well with the E3.

Just get an e3 and then get an e5 later when it comes out and call it good.

After having my RE2's for over a month... I finally decided to try out this whole "amping" thing. I ended up building a custom CMOY and man these earphones sound a lot better. More bass, definition, and sound stage.
