Cheap Portable Foldable Durable Headphones

man, I've shortly heard the 26P and the PX100, and while both of them are extremely viable portables IMO, I don't think I would want a PX100 for a bus. I had a bus experience with my KSC35s this week and found them totally unlistenable in that environment. I think the 26P has pretty good isolation for what it is and it would be fine for a bus, but I think the PX100 sounds better. can't help you much otherwise.

I found my HD201 listenable on the bus. It has just enough isolation that you can hear it fairly well at what I consider to be the upper end of what I'm willing to listen to it at (about 12 out of 25 on my panasonic CD player). It is maybe a little closer to 'neutral' than the PX100 if you're talking about lack of bass bloat, but frankly, I find that extra bit of warm bass the PX100 has to be preferable when on the go. Headphones short on bass get drowned out more easily in moving vehicles, I think. Also, HD201 is not foldable and has that long cord, etc.

Considered canalphones at all? I can 'get by' with my panasonics, but find all my other cans preferable background noise permitting.

Man, I hope they sound good. They look good. Look closed, too, so I wonder if there will be some good isolation... can't wait to hear your impressions.

Damn, every time I see that pic I think those are gonna be PX100 killers. They look they'll isolate way better at least.

The K26 and the K81 sound good, but I need headphones that can be in a pocket all day. (school) Our lockers are not secure enough to keep valuables in.

Are the AKG's that small?

Earbuds are out because I swim after school, then take the bus home, and my ears are full of water and ear buds sound bad.

K81DJs fit the bill better imo - decent isolation, don't leak as much, durability, foldable, great SQ although there is a definite emphasis on bass. They're more expensive than the PX100s, but you truly get what you pay for.

Not only do these fold up horrendously but these are way over the size limit.

Looks like its down to deciding between PX100 and The Phillip HP460.

Are the Phillips available yet? Has anyone heard them?
Any idea what they cost?

Thanks

The pictures posted are not of the Philips HP460, but the SHL9500. Both are available now. I have the HP460's but have not heard the 9500's yet...if they sound anything like the 460's they will be a winner.

yeah, someone mentioned the 9500s, too. I found pics of all of them, but just HAD to post that one. Here's hoping they sound as sexy as they look :p
